AIIMS develops anti-gravity body suit for yoga in space
It is India’s first body gear for astronauts that will create body weight like feeling in space and will prevent them from floating. Dr KK Deepak developed this. The physiological effects of such gravitational loading have been validated by Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. Dr K K Deepak and experts at NIT Jalandhar Dr Vishwajeet, Dr Dilbag Singh have been working on the yoga space suit for the last five years. The work has been published in scientific Journals like Life Science in Space Research and Microgravity Science & Technology and others. The anti-gravity gear will possibly help astronauts/gaganauts strengthen muscles and prevent loss of bone density minerals.
